There are a host of reasons why young adults don’t vote at the same clip as other age cohorts, including higher rates of geographical movement, social circles without strong voting habits, and misperceptions regarding one’s own knowledge and ability to participate. Davidson-Specific Resources
- CPE social media and informational messaging: Davidson’s Center for Political Engagement produces infographics, hosts informational sessions, collaborates with local political organizations and actors, and more. All information can be found on their social media accounts, linked below.
- Davidson Democrats, Republicans, and Libertarians: These three organizations are Davidson College’s student-led, partisan political organizations. They provide information and messaging to students and faculty interested in party-specific resources, and events are typically advertised through social media engagement.
- Day-of shuttles to polling location: On Election Day and throughout early voting, CPE in collaboration with the College provides shuttles for students from Davidson’s campus to our polling locations. Hours are decided during election cycles and are made public on CPE’s social media, newsletters, and more.
- Precinct 206: Greg Snyder’s “Precinct 206” is a local Democratic organization helping provide information and resources for voters in the greater-Davidson area.
- Mecklenburg County Board of Elections: The Mecklenburg County BoE provides non-partisan political information regarding elections, voting, and candidates for county residents.
