Timely Correspondence via Email and Slack
Much of our work depends on good communication, which is frequently received via email or internal Slack messaging. It is important that senders and receivers have a shared understanding of response times.
Email queries should be answered within three business days. If you are not able to respond to an email query in that time period, let the sender know that you have received the communication and will respond shortly. Email correspondence beyond three exchanges may suggest the need for a face-to-face meeting.
Internal Slack messages sent directly to an individual are intended for *quick questions and easy responses* (more detailed communication should occur through email or face-to-face meetings). Slack messages should be answered as soon as possible, preferably the same day. If you are away from Slack or require un-interrupted focus time, please mark your status accordingly.
