Campus lists and AFFINITY GROUPS
When arriving to Davidson, you are automatically added to "all campus" listservs, including the library-org list. Requests to be manually added to the "Academic Affairs Staff" and "Library Occupants" (includes all staff who work in the library, regardless of division) should be sent to T&I. Requests to subscribe to the "VPAA Newsletter" should be sent to Anne-Marie Craig.
In addition, there are two affinity groups that are open to all staff:
Staff of Color is an affinity group for staff who self-identify as "people of color." You may email Alysen Beaty at albeaty@davidson.edu to join the Staff of Color group or for more information. The group meets informally once a month at the Spencer Weinstein Center for Community and Justice to discuss topics that impact their professional development and experiences at Davidson College, including the following.
Community Building & Support
Mentorship and Sponsorship
Professional Development Opportunities
Inclusive Hiring Efforts, Retention and Promotion of Existing Staff of Color
Inclusivity and Privilege Differences
Outreach and Collective Advocacy
Work Life Balance
The LGBTQA Caucus advocates for and supports lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer persons at the college by attending to the issues, ideas, social history and cultural practices that are critical for sustaining a diverse and inclusive community. This group brings together the campus community to educate members on LGBTQA issues, supports the college's non-discrimination policy, collaborates with other social justice groups and disseminates information about relevant news, events and achievements. The group meets monthly and meetings are posted on the Campus Calendar under student and employee events.
