Welcome to WebFest!
This training aims to engage you in best practices for publishing online while you’re developing your own website. We’ll explore the technology powering the web, maintaining a digital presence, the current issues surrounding the web, and discuss the web’s role in our disciplines.
WebFest occurs in 2-hour sessions over 4 Fridays. Our main focus will be the development and completion of your own websites that you can proudly showcase.
Using This Website
Every day of WebFest is listed in this website’s menu and contains the information you’ll need for each day of training. Daily materials are divided into three sections:
Description – The general details about the content you will be exploring. This information is intended to be an overview of the day’s session.
Goals – Your daily checklist of tasks! If you complete all 4 days of goals, you should finish your own website. Please note, these are general guidelines to get you started—your goals may vary depending on your setup and materials.
Resources – This section contains all the resources and extra bits you might need as you learning about the web and building your website. From links to guides to how-to videos to the Domain of One’s Own community, all of these materials are intended to propel you into learn more about the web as needed and desired.
