The Project
“Georgia Douglas Johnson: Rereading the Harlem Renaissance” began in the fall of 2015 in an English seminar at Davidson College: ENG 486 – Modernism, Magazines, Media. Professor Suzanne Churchill framed the seminar around a student-run, intensive, collaborative research project.
Who We Are
Nathan Argueta, Davidson Class of 2016 | Editor / Bibliographer
Nathan is an English major at Davidson College with a Minor in Film & Media Studies. When he’s not groveling over Scorsese films or researching top weekly plays for fantasy football, he spends his time working on various art projects and debating their meanings. In the future, his aspirations include outliving the average life-span of 78.2 years and writing for any magazine that you can find at a dentist’s office.
Peter Bowman, Davidson Class of 2016 | Editor / Stylist
Peter is an English major with a minor in Global Literary Theory. His favorite pastime—aside from reading, writing, filming, and ranting—is pretending he knows what he’s doing. He’s interested in finding someone who will pay him to continue to be a dilettante.
Leigh Chandler, Davidson Class of 2016 | Co-Editor-in-chief
Leigh is an English major at Davidson College with interests in both communication and gender studies. Through her search to combine the three, she discovered a love of grant writing. Looking forward, she aspires to create Pint-Size, a beer magazine for women.
Audrey Lane, Davidson Class of 2016 | Editor / Co-Webmaster
Audrey is a student at Davidson College where she studies English and Environmental Science. She is an aspiring writer, a digital tinkerer, and an amateur photographer. These three interests have lead her to pursue various interdisciplinary project in environmental humanities.
Wade Morgan, Davidson Class of 2017 | Editor
Wade is a senior and double major in English and physics at Davidson College. He plans on attending graduate school after graduating. In his free time, he enjoys refurbishing straight razors and making perfume and cologne.
Andrew Rikard, Davidson Class of 2017 | Editor / Co-Webmaster
Andrew is a student at Davidson College where he focuses on English and Digital Studies. He’s interested in the implications of public digital scholarship as well as the digital remediation of paper to pixels. His future is murky, but his heart is clear. Rachel Wiltshire, Davidson Class of 2016 | Co-Editor-in-chief
Rachel is English and Theatre double major at Davidson College. She has been able to combine these interests smoothly, writing, analyzing, and performing in both departments. In the future, she hopes to work in casting and continue to write and act.
