Plutarch's Lives

Plutarch's Lives otherwise known as "Parallel Lives" or "Lives"

Author:  Plutarch was a Greek biographer and author whose work influenced an evolution of the essay, biography, and historical writing in Europe from the 16th to 19th century. Parallel Lives, is one of his most important works. 

Overview: 
Is an influential collection of biographies of famous Roman and Greek soldiers, orators, statesmen, and legislators. Plutarch intended to provide a model of behavior patterns of famous Greeks and Romans to encourage mutual respect between the two groups. 

Application: 
The creature does not specify which volume of biography of Plutarch's he possesses, but does describe the influence of reading about heroes from the past. The creature goes on to say how these higher concepts introduced in the work about other laces in the world are beyond his comprehension due to his sole source of information being a small family within a cottage.
