They flop all over the place and look clownish. I can understand why the “gay pride parade” look of the ’70s made some people uncomfortable, but it made practical sense and you could actually see what the players were doing. Shorts cut a couple of inches above the knee, not too loose, but with folds at the seams to allow freedom of motion (like the ones that were briefly popular in the late ’80s) would make a reasonable compromise; at least it would make the players look like athletes again.

Get your team new uniforms & you don’t have to spend a lot.

I think if you ask Coach McKillop about it, that’s exactly what he’d tell you – it goes against the definition of “uniform.”
Lefty Driesell tells a great story about recruting Don Davidson back in the day. Told Don that if he came to play for us that he promised to put his name on both the back AND front of his shirt!

Most all other teams have the player’s names. This is most helpful; particularly on TV, when not very many games are brodcast, and it is infrequently that we get to see them play. I realize that they have unique numbers, but without a “program” to follow, (and even then having to look them up) it is hard to follow.

Am I the only person in the world who thinks that the modern-day baggy-style getups that all the hoops teams wear make the kids look like clowns playing in their pajamas? OK, the shorts of the ’70s were perhaps a little too form-fitting, but now we’ve gone to the way other extreme. Anybody under 6 foot looks especially silly — their “shorts” drag the floor. Love the Cats (whatever they wear), but I surely would like to see Davidson be a trend-setter toward a classier basketball uniform, something that looks less like beach-bum gear.

You’ve got a good eye. There are some good photographs of the team in the new uniforms on DavidsonNews.net – shot by Davidson’s own Tim Cowie

That’s what attracted me to my (former)husband – Steve Gadaire! I think my son, Davidson freshman DREW GADAIRE has a photo on his desk of his dad in that uniform. Check out those legs!
