The student in the front row, center, is not Bill Shinn but Manfred Emmrich, the president of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity during 1957-58. As for the person in the second row, left, I’m not altogether certain who he is, but several of my DC classmates think he must have surely been the Phi Delta Theta representative who lugged the trophy to campus. Sorry for the confusion.
