Westside Stories purpose is to more completely document the lives and contributions of African-Americans in Cornelius, Davidson and Huntersville, NC. This site brings together materials that have been gathered by and donated to the College Archives and records that have been gathered through an NEH Common Heritage grant.*
Working through a community advisory group, community oral history and scanning days have been planned to capture the stories of individuals, clubs, schools, churches, and businesses. Having this material available online as well as providing copies for the community will ensure that this rich history is preserved and celebrated.
