Blythe Family Farm (Under Lake Norman)

The two-story farmhouse built for Violet McCoy and Frank Blythe about the time of their marriage in 1848 still stands at its original location on Beatties Ford Road on a remnant of the 400-acre tract of land acquired by Frank’s great-grandfather, Samuel Blythe, in 1772.  Much of that original parcel, which made up the Blythe Family Farm, is now under the waters of Lake Norman. The original farmhouse is still occupied by members of the Blythe family as a private residence.
