This atlas has different maps for different time periods, as well as specialized maps on topics such as colonization, marble deposits, commerce and trade, roads, the development of Roman provinces, and agriculture.
Inspired by the Barrington Atlas of the Greek and Roman World (see above), this digital map adds 9111 places (and buildings) with a different provenance than the Barrington Atlas. The Barrington Atlas’s limitations in terms of the physical size of the printed atlas do not apply the same way to a digital map.
