This is the initial, raw first 10-second checkpoint of my final render in Blender3D. I used a basic template from a past "Pwnisher" Challenge, known as "Alternate Realities", which I adapted to fit my storytelling.
A collection of stills from the final cut. Comparing these to the first shot is incredibly inspiring for myself, and it excites me to have clear proof of my improvement.
This is the final compilation and rendering of scenes for this short film. As I look back on my progress from Project 3, I am incredibly proud of how far I have come. I feel I have given it my own unique perspective and I that I have done a lot in the time we were given (~one month). I do think I put way too much on my plate for this project, as I strayed away from a storyboarding process, and instead worked excessively to complete each scene. I feel each scene is too individualized and I wish I was able to give them a better flow from one to the next, as well as better sounds so that the viewer can better understand what is going on. I needed more cinematic shots, such as time lapses of the flower(s) growing, the barren landscape, and the lonely robot going about his day. Finally, I feel that the video needs a better background track. The two separate songs work well apart but do not work well in one video, I feel I could have used a poem or song to bring the animation to life. Overall, I feel that the video follows a story, but could have used more storyboarding and flow to bring it together completely. I am very pleased with all the shots except for the city shots, as much of the world-building is not apparent in the video.
