For the 14 Variations Project, I based my variations around the ideas of contrast and uncanniness in the context of thoughts, dreams, and their creation. I primarily used Photoshop and was limited to one hour for each project. I struggled to find exact inspiration for any of these first seven, as I worked primarily off my own knowledge, inspiration from Instagram or Pinterest, and was more worried about working within the one hour time limit.

My second set of seven variations was much more experimental than my first seven, which I feel told a story better. For these seven, I began to experiment more with drawing, text, Generative AI, and minimalism, to try and see how limited a piece could be while still telling a story. I realized simpler can still appear complex, and intended these to be more peaceful yet uncanny and a bit uncomfortable, and besides variations seven, eight, and thirteen, I wanted them to appear realistic.
