Or are you thinking about\u00a0experimenting?<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Would you like a chance to talk about teaching? No\u00a0preparation needed to come have\u00a0P.I.E.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The first meeting of Fall 2018 will be Thursday, August 30 during Common Hour in the Baxter-Davidson Room<br \/>\n<em>What\u00a0is\u00a0P.I.E.?<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>PIE is the\u00a0<strong>P<\/strong><strong>rofessional\u00a0Idea\u00a0Exchange<\/strong>, an\u00a0informal, grassroots happening that grew out of our\u00a0<strong>hunger<\/strong>\u00a0for a chance to talk to\u00a0each other about teaching (and any other\u00a0professional matters)\u2014without taking on more responsibilities.<\/li>\n<li>We\u00a0invite\u00a0everyone to come when you can and stay as long as you like, feel free to come \u201clate\u201d or leave \u201ce\u201d Ask a question, share an\u00a0idea, or just drop\u00a0in and listen.<\/li>\n<li>We&#8217;ve previously discussed\u00a0ideas to facilitate discussion, grade writing assignments, get mid-semester feedback,\u00a0evaluate student\u00a0participation, and more!<\/li>\n<li>Colleagues had an open dialogue, asked questions, and discussed how we can consolidate all the great\u00a0ideas that were shared.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>The only restriction on\u00a0P.I.E.:<\/em>\u00a0<strong>No\u00a0prepping.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><em>P<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>.I.E.\u00a0is an\u00a0informal, spontaneous, free\u00a0exchange of\u00a0ideas.<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Fall 2018 P.I.E.
